If you love being in nature, whether that's in your garden, the countryside or other green space, you probably want to capture it in watercolour. 

Perhaps you are looking for a more contemporary way of capturing the essence of Mother Nature. Maybe you don't want to paint every detail or take a traditional approach. 

In this course we will concentrate on pattern, colour and shape. By using layers of masking fluid we will build up dramatic compositions and for a little added fun, this course takes the form of a tondo (circular painting). 

Along the way you will learn lots of skills to apply to your other watercolour paintings. We will cover planning, building up a library of shapes, brush work and the dos and don'ts of masking fluid.

There is also a pdf you can preview which outlines the content and of course the material list. I am painting a tondo, but if you prefer you can paint a square or rectangle.

My approach is that I want you to go away with the skills and experience you need to paint your own work. So I do not expect you to use the exact colours I use, or the exact design. I think you will learn a lot more by using the examples and adapting it to your own preferences. So, I also show you what to do when things go wrong and how to fix mistakes. The painting is shown in full time, apart from when I was removing the masking fluid as that would have been too boring to watch. It is filmed in my garden studio, and I aim for this course to be the next best thing to sitting alongside me for one-to-one tuition.
